Week Commencing 29/01/2018

 

Tuesday we had New Age Kurling all day at Derby Arena, in the morning we had 11 schools attend including, Silverhill, Dale, Bishop Lonsdale, Reigate Park, St Marys, St James Juniors, Royal School for the Deaf, Arboretum, Cherry Tree, St Clares and Pennine Way Primary. They all attended the Plus event and got lots of different games in against different teams. We had 2 different rounds playing each other, in round 1 the winners were Silverhill, second was Arboretum and third St Marys. In round 2 the winners were St James, second St Marys and third were Pennine Way.

In the afternoon we had 6 schools attend including, Ashgate, Meadow Farm, Dale, Bishop Lonsdale, St Werburghs and Village Primary. All of the children had a really good time playing lots of different games against each other. In third place we had Dale, in second was Bishop Lonsdale and the winners were St Werburghs.

On Wednesday we had KS1 Fitness is Fun Festival which saw 4 schools attend in the morning including, Dale, Lakeside, Reigate Park and Hardwick. In the afternoon we had Silverhill bringing 2 teams, Brookfield and Arboretum. All of the children went around 4 different stations including a fitness circuit, fitness games, strength games and Alphabet fitness. The children loved in and all left with a smile on their face.

Wednesday Evening we had Secondary Girls Football Finals which saw 4 different teams from Under 16 and Under 14 play each other, including Woodlands, Chellaston and West Park. Woodlands A won the Under 16 Final and Woodlands also won the Under 14 Final.

Thursday we had Yr 3/4 Gymnastics which was held at Mickleover Gymnastics Club, we had 7 different schools in the morning session including, Dale, Silverhill, Portway all bringing 2 teams each and St Georges, Bishop Lonsdale, Roe Farm and Derby High School. The winning team were Portway Juniors, second were Silverhill and third Derby High School. In the afternoon we had 6 schools including Chellaston, Cavendish Close, Oakwood, Ravensdale, Cherry Tree and Ashgate. Chellaston Juniors were the winners, Cavendish Close second and Oakwood third.

Friday morning we were back at Mickleover Gymnastics Club for Gymnastics Plus which saw 6 schools attend including Arboretum, Breadsall Hill Top, Bishop Lonsdale, St Martins, Cherry Tree Hill and Alvaston Juniors. All of the teams had the chance to practice their balance skills, partner balances, Beam work and trampette work. They all then created a routine which they showed all groups at the end.
