Week Commencing 19/06/2017

Monday afternoon we were at the Derby County Training Ground for our Girls Euro 2017 Festival, we had 5 schools attend, Ashgate Primary, Oakwood Juniors, St James Junior, Arboretum Primary and Ravensdale Juniors. All the children got the chance to play each other and then we had a semi final and a final. Arboretum played St James whilst Oakwood played Ravensdale in the semi finals. The final was Oakwood against St James which was a close game but Oakwood came out on top. Oakwood 1st Place, St James 2nd and Arboretum 3rd.

Tuesday we had Year 7 girls rounders at Chellaston Academy. We had 9 schools attend, West Park, Derby High, Derby Moor, St Benedict, Chellaston, Littleover, City of Derby, Merrill, Murray Park. They all played each other and in the final West Park came first.

Wednesday we had a day of Tennis at Derby Tennis Centre. Tennis Plus in the morning which 4 schools attended, Alvaston Juniors, Oakwood Juniors, Lakeside Primary and St Giles Primary. All the children had the chance to try out lots of different skills and then the final session they played mini games against the other schools. In the afternoon we had Yr 5/6 Mini Tennis we had 8 schools attend, Dale Primary, St Peters Junior, Mickleover Primary, St Albans Primary, Ravensdale Junior, Cavendish Close Junior, Oakwood Juniors and Walter Evans Primary. All the children played lots of different rounds of games against different teams. Dale came third, Mickleover Second and Walter Evans came first.

Thursday we had Grass Track Cycling at Alvaston Park, we had 9 schools attend, Ashgate Primary, Royal Schools for the Deaf Primary, Silverhill Primary, Markeaton Primary, Cavendish Close Juniors, Alvaston Juniors, Village Primary and Oakwood Juniors. All the teams got the chance to race 4 races and the final race was a Italian Pursuit which was the decider for the trophy. Cavendish Close came third, Markeaton Primary second and Silverhill won.

Friday we had Quicksticks Hockey which 8 schools attended, Zaytouna Primary, Oakwood Junior, Dale Primary, Ravensdale Juniors, Chellaston Juniors, Silverhill Primary, Mickleover Primary and Markeaton Primary. All the teams moved around and played each other. Third place went to Markeaton Primary, Mickleover Primary came second and Ravensdale Juniors won.
