Three Olympic torches were displayed in Derby's Market Place to help celebrate one year until the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The 'On Your Marks' event on 27 July 2011 was exactly a year before the Games are opened in London. Clubs and groups from across the city provided activities for everyone to take part in - showing what a fantastic range of activities is available within Derby.
However, despite the best efforts of everyone involved it was the Olympic torches that stole the show. Pride of place went to the London 2012 torch, which will return to the city on Friday 29 June 2012 as part of the offical Olympic Torch Relay.
The 2012 torch was joined by one from the Athens Games in 2004 and one from London 1948 - the last time the Olympic Games were held in this country. Members of the public were able to be photographed throughout the day with the torches.
More information on the Torch Relay events next summer will be announced soon.
