Woodlands Key Stage 3 Girls Badminton team are celebrating success after reaching the finals of the Badminton England Center Parcs National Schools Championships. During February the team won the Derbyshire schools championship and last week were winners of the regional finals at Nottingham University beating schools from Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire. The team were presented with their winners gold medals by England Badminton star Donna Kellogg, the team of Emily Bitton, Hannah Bailey, Katie Wright and Sophie Robinson will now play in The National Finals on Sunday 25th April against 8 other finalists at Centre Parcs, Sherwood Forest.
The Keys Stage 3 Boys team also played in the regional final narrowly losing one of their games which pushed them down into second place. The team consisted of Joshua Hong, Joshua Thompson, Daniel Hong and Ross Hickie. It was a great experience for all the Woodlands school players, the schools success in this national competition again demonstrates the strength of Junior Badminton in Derbyshire.

The FA Skills Programme will be running FREE football coaching sessions for 5-11 year olds during the June Half Term Holidays. The sessions will take place on Wednesday the 6th of June at the University of Derby, Kedleston Road Campus.
