As part of the ongoing development of PE and School Sport for participants with a disability, we are pleased to announce a joint venture between Derby City School Sport Partnership, Derby County in the Community, Derby City Council, Derbyshire Sport and the FA.
Thursday 7th March 2013 (10am – 12noon at the Steve Bloomer pitch on the Racecourse Park in Derby) will see the city host an FA England Disability Talent ID Day attended by Regional Scouts looking to identify players who qualify for and could progress further through the FA's Disability Player Pathway.
As well as giving budding footballers the opportunity to get into an inclusive club locally it may also provide the chance for players to enter one of the FA's Regional Player Development Centres or Impairment Specific Squads who play up to and including Regional, National and International fixtures. (The England Blind and Cerebral Palsy Squads provided many players for the Paralympics GB teams at London 2012!)
Whether you are based in a special school or an SEN department within mainstream education, you are welcome to attend.
To confirm your school’s interest in sending pupils along to this exciting initiative or if you have any questions about the details of the event, please contact me via the details below.
