Champions in PE and School Sport #ThisSchoolCan

Today we celebrate the success of local Teachers and Teaching Assistants from Derby City Schools who have completed a national qualification in PE and School Sport.

In September 2014 Derby City School Sport Partnership was one of the first organisations in the country to deliver two new national qualifications designed to give school staff the knowledge, confidence and skills to deliver PE and School Sport.

Louis Sprints to Duathlon Victory

Our first ever Primary Schools’ Duathlon ended in a sprint finish on Wednesday, with Wren Park’s Louis Smith taking the win on the line.

The event, staged at Moorways, was the first time pupils from Derby schools have been given the chance to take part in the growing multi-event sport.

Champs Close Country Country

The 2015 Secondary Schools’ Cross Country Championships on Wednesday 11 November brought the curtain down on this year’s cross country season.

More than 1000 finishers have crossed the line during the season, with 200 completing the Moorways Championships course.

West Park were big winners, taking three of the six team titles on offer, as well as one of the individual races. Littleover also enjoyed success with two team wins and one individual victory.
