On the 1st February we were at Mickleover Gymnastics Club with St Clare’s School for our Gymnastics Plus event. We worked through different balances, travels and shapes as well as jumps off a spring board and travelling along beams. At the end of the morning session the groups performed a routine of their own creation using all the skills they had learnt.
We were at Derbyshire Tennis Centre on the 6th February for our Fundamentals Festival. This is a KS1 specific event where groups rotate around four different sport stations, these were Dance, Cricket, Tennis and Scootability. The groups spend 30 minutes at each station and hopefully try something they haven’t before. In the morning session we had groups from Ashgate Primary, Ash Croft Primary and Brookfield Primary. Then in the afternoon we had Mickleover Primary, Ashwood Spencer Academy and Walter Evans Primary. Thank you to all deliverers and schools for coming.
Then on Friday 8th February we held an additional event for New Age Kurling and Boccia. We had four courts set up – two for Boccia and two for New Age Kurling. With 9 teams in attendance (Roe Farm, 2x St Albans, 2x St Mary’s, Hardwick, 3x Bishop Lonsdale) all teams played 8 games, four in each sport. At the end of the event all results were compiled and the top three finished:
1st – Roe Farm
2nd – Bishop Lonsdale A
3rd – St Mary’s B
Well done to all participants.
We hope to see you again soon at one of our events!
