Friday February 15, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
This programme has been designed by the Derby City Physical Literacy Partnership, including paediatric therapists, to enable schools to identify and support children’s physical development needs within the school environment. Participating schools are able to access a fast track referral process to the Children’s Therapy Team, for those children who need further support following participation in the programme.
By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
accurately assess the physical development of children using age appropriate gross motor skill checklists
deliver universal activities to improve children’s physical development in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1
Deliver a daily intervention programme for children identified as in need in Year 2 and upwards
measure the physical development progress of children taking part in the programme
make appropriate referrals to the Children’s’ Therapy Team using the fast track referral process.
This course is free of charge for Derby City SSP affiliate schools.
