We had a busy week to end the first half term of 2019, starting with Tuesday 12th and our day of Year 5/6 Sportshall Athletics. Across the two sessions we had 419 athletes competing across 6 field events and 6 track events, there were also a total of 33 volunteers that helped the event to run as smoothly as possible. On the 1st February we were at Mickleover Gymnastics Club with St Clare’s School for our Gymnastics Plus event. We worked through different balances, travels and shapes as well as jumps off a spring board and travelling along beams. At the end of the morning session the groups performed a routine of their own creation using all the skills they had learnt.

January Monthly Update

 

January has been a busy start to the new calendar year. We hope everyone has settled back into the swing of things and that everyone had a great break.

 

Week 1 commencing 7th January

On Thursday 10th January 2019 we held our Primary Individual Table Tennis tournament at Derby Moor. Six schools were represented on the night; Arboretum Primary, Zaytouna Primary, Chellaston Junior, Ravensdale Junior, Brackensdale Primary and Silverhill Primary. Week Commencing 02/07/2018

 

Tuesday afternoon we had American Sports Festival which was held at Moorways and saw 5 schools attend including, Cottons Farm Primary, Ashcroft Primary, Dale Primary and Silverhill with 2 teams. All of the teams played lots of games against each other and got the chance to play a sport they might normally not get to play.
