Secondary Schools Bounce Into 2016

Pupils from Derby’s Secondary Schools bounced into the new year with the first competition of 2016.

Landau Forte College played host to the Key Stage 3 and 4 Trampoline competition on Wednesday evening, with more than 40 gymnasts taking part.

Each gymnasts completed three routines – set skills, set routine and voluntary routine –  with judges scoring each performance. Competitors were also split into three tiers of competition based upon their experience and level of competence.

Can your baton follow the #Road2Rio 2016? (via Kenya!)

Here’s how to enter our #Road2Rio Baton Relay design competition…..


We are asking schools to come up with a design for our official #Road2Rio baton which will be used in a number of initiatives in the build up to the summer Olympics and Paralympics.

The design must:

Be approx 29.5cm x 10.5cm (Around about half a sheet of A4 when split vertically.)
Reflect themes such as:

The Olympics and Paralympics
The SSP values of-

Skills for Life
Opportunities or ALL


Local schools show their steel in Sheffield

Woodlands School Girls and Merrill Academy Boys put in strong performances whilst representing Derby at the Kinder+ Schools Midlands Futsal Cup.


The Football League Trust’s Futsal Programme was in full swing on Tuesday 12th January as we saw Sheffield Wednesday Community Trust host the Kinder+ Schools Midlands Futsal Cup at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield.
