SSP goes International with High Quality PE!

This week Derby City SSP Specialist PE deliverers Vic Ward and Paul Edwards have been in Portugal working with teachers at the St Julian’s International School in Lisbon on some of our PE Resources.

Dance and Games have been delivered as part of a 2 day training course with the staff who educate a range of age groups.

After another busy and successful year in 2014 – 2015 we are pleased to publish our Annual Report.

As well as the two national awards we picked up during the year the report highlights our achievements and successes in getting children engaged in PE and School sport and supporting the development of schools and teachers.

Over the year to July 2016 we

delivered 152 School Games competitions, events and festivals
engaged 10,622 participants in those events, including 1103 at the Celebration of Dance
worked with 230 young sports leaders, who contributed 2041 voluntary hours
delivered 66 training […]

#Road2Rio – Faces for the Future (Olympian of the Month)

With less than a year to go to the start of the 2016 Olympic Games, as part of our #Road2Rio initiative we will be focussing each month on young sports people that you can look out for competing in the Olympics and Paralympics for Team GB in Rio and hopefully beyond.

Want to be an SSP Elite Leader?

For the 2015-16 academic year we are looking to make some changes to the way our Leadership Academy is structured and run.


One of these changes is that we would like to have some ELITE LEADERS based in a number of schools across the city who will look to promote and advocate SSP leadership opportunities by talking to other sports leaders within their school and liaising with members of the PE staff.
